The German-Norwegian company Eco Stor has started construction of a 300 MW/700 MWh BESS in the German city of Stassfurt in Saxony-Anhalt (Eco Stor press release, 04/11/2025). The project is being developed through Eco Stor’s subsidiary, Eco Power Three, and it consists of container stations with inverters, transformers and lithium-ion battery modules. Once operational, the facility should have the capacity to supply around 500,000 households with electricity for two hours.
Eco Stor successfully connected a 100 MW BESS to the German grid in Bollingstedt (Schleswig-Holstein) in June 2025.
