The Oman LNG Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Spanish company Naturgy to explore a potential long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement. The agreement could involve the supply of up to 1 Mt/year of LNG over 10 years starting in 2030 (Oman News Agency press release, 04/11/2025).
Under the MoU, the two companies will also explore a joint investment in constructing an LNG carrier in cooperation with Asyad for maritime transport.
Additionally, they plan to purchase LNG shipments from Naturgy to help meet European market demand, while studying opportunities for access to European regasification terminals and associated gas pipeline networks to enhance LNG imports and subsequent sales.
