Sunotec has signed a five-year cross-border agreement with Shell to develop a 600 MWh BESS project in Bulgaria (Sunotec press release, 04/11/2025). The deal is expected to provide long-term price stability for the project, which is currently under development, and it is scheduled to start operations in the second quarter of 2026.
The agreement helps diversify Shell’s portfolio in the region, while providing financial stability to Sunotec’s project.
